Gaggenau awarded the contract for one of the most exclusive luxury developments in Africa.
Gaggenau was awarded a R170 million contract by one of South Africa’s most sought after luxury residential estates: Steyn City Parkland Residence, which was ranked Gauteng’s top residential estate in November 2019 by New World Wealth.
Within the next three years, Gaggenau will be installing a selection of integrated appliances in over 700 apartments at Steyn City’s new R5 billion City Centre development.
“This is the biggest project for us in Africa and, one of the largest single Gaggenau installations in the world”, enthuses, Alper Sengul, Managing Director of Gaggenau’s South African operations.

Gaggenau will be installing various appliances in the luxury City Centre apartments, including the development’s two penthouses, six show units and the Brand Experience Centre.
Amongst the selected appliances, is the EB333 oven, which pays tribute to the brand’s rich heritage and natural evolution since its founding year in 1683. Gaggenau’s iconic 90 cm wide oven perfectly embodies the brand’s design philosophy of “traditional avant-garde”, where timeless craftsmanship meets innovative design.
Included in the selected range are the fully integrated modular range of refrigerators, freezers, fridge-freezers and wine-climate cabinets, known as the Vario cooling 400 series.
Synonymous with exclusive culinary culture, Gaggenau is not simply an appliance; it is an experience in itself, recognised for its sophisticated lifestyle, making it the brand of choice for one of the most exclusive luxury projects in Africa, adds Sengul.
Steyn City’s City Centre redefines luxury living in South Africa, with design and facilities never seen before, says Giuseppe Plumari, CEO of Steyn City Properties.
This prestigious lifestyle resort boasts a number of facilities, including a helipad and 300m Clearwater lagoon. The City Centre will also function as a world class, smart city – being entirely self-contained, fitted with its own water reservoir and generators to protect against disruptions to services.
Phase 1 of the City Centre development, which comprises 220 apartments, is nearing completion while a launch date is still to be confirmed.
