As part of the renowned Design Chicago, the Midwest’s largest residential design conference, held September 25-26, 2024, Gaggenau welcomed design professionals, architects, and custom luxury home builders to an exceptional experience in the Chicago showroom.
In partnership with Luxe Interiors + Design, Gaggenau had the honor of hosting Jill Cohen, Editor-in-Chief, and esteemed author and design anthropologist Newell Turner. Turner, the former editorial director of House Beautiful, Elle Decor, and Veranda, presented an enlightening discussion on his latest book, Mexican: A Journey Through Design. The conversation delved into the nine decorative periods that have shaped Mexico’s vibrant interior design and architectural landscapes.
Following the discussion, guests were invited to indulge in an exquisite culinary presentation featuring a Mexican-inspired guacamole and chips recipe adapted exclusively for Gaggenau by Black Jacket Society Chef Justin Cogley of MICHELIN Two-Starred Aubergine. In-house Chef Amy Alcorn prepared the recipe introducing an elevated twist on this classic appetizer, serving a modern alternative to chips with freshly baked buckwheat crackers, masterfully prepared in the Gaggenau convection oven. The guests were also treated to a custom tequila pairing by Clase Azul tequila to perfectly compliment the lite bites.
Annually, Design Chicago offers two days of inspiration, innovation, and immersive learning, bringing together kitchen, bath, and home furnishings professionals under one roof at the iconic Merchandise Mart. The Gaggenau Chicago showroom was pleased to be part of the event by hosting this exclusive cultural conversation and culinary journey.
