This January, Gaggenau welcomed several American designers and architects who were in attendance at the annual Maison&Objet Design Fair in Paris for an special day of design and décor. This Club 1683 program chaperoned by Skyler Stevenson, Gaggenau North America Senior Marketing + Product Manager, and Kera Latta, Gaggenau Club 1683 Concierge, began with petit-dejeuner at the brand-new Gaggenau Paris showroom, before traveling to the Atelier Pierre Bonnefille workshop. Bonnefille, the French Artist, Muralist, Painter and Designer, known for his riveting installations, showcased his many works celebrating “the relationship between material, color and light on the surface.”
In the afternoon, guests enjoyed a multi-course lunch, all prepared using Gaggenau appliances, at Le Loft by Pierre Sang. The menu, which focused on Sang’s love for fresh, local ingredients, featured a delectable duck carpaccio with pickled red onions and cauliflower, along with a stunning honeycomb and passionfruit sorbet, drizzled in warm caramel.
Following lunch, a private walking tour of the Mobilier National was a truly unique highlight of the day. The Mobilier National has been supporting artisans’ creativity since the 17th century, and continues to create and distribute a unique worldwide collection of over 130,000 pieces of furniture and textiles. Invitees witnessed local craftsmen, in the historic tapestry workshop “Manufacture de la Savonnerie,” hand weaving a Louis XV style carpet, which will be placed in the throne room of the Palais de Versailles.
The final stop of the day included a curated tour inside the studio apartment of legendary architect Le Corbusier. Le Fondation Le Corbusier began the restoration of the apartment in 2016, as it was designed by the French-Swiss architect and his long-term collaborator Pierre Jeanneret. The space, which is part of Le Corbusier’s “Radiant City project,” provides sweeping views of nearby Boulogne and was the perfect tableau for guests to soak in all the inspiration from the day.
