
In January 2025, Gaggenau welcomed trade professionals to the new BSH Experience & Design Center in Houston for an intimate evening celebrating design, culture, and culinary artistry. In partnership with Luxe Interiors + Design, the inaugural event for the Gaggenau showroom featured an engaging conversation hosted by Luxe Texas Homes Editor, Lara Hollack, with renowned author Newell Turner. As an award-winning editor and creator of the Hearst Design Group, Turner shared insights from his book Mexican: A Journey Through Design, exploring Mexico’s rich architectural and interior design heritage through a cultural lens.

Following the discussion, guests experienced an exceptional tasting menu by Chef Juan Rodriguez of Magdalena’s, each course paired expertly by Cristina Allen, co-founder of the luxury artisanal tequila producer, Volans, and showcasing Gaggenau’s combi-steam oven, Vario Teppan Yaki, and induction cooktop. Dishes included crema de espárragos with pepitas; heirloom mushroom tostadas with pickled red onion; chicken tamales with mole rojo; and short rib ropa vieja over masa grits, concluding with a decadent Spanish flan. Cristina Allen of Volans Tequila guided guests through the composition and heritage of each pairing, elevating the tasting experience.
