The cook’s cooktop

The Gaggenau cooktop doesn’t just look the part, it is inspired by the Professional kitchen. The 400 series and 200 series both adhere to the Gaggenau principle of exceptional materials, designed with insight and assembled with skill by craftspeople. Both offer a modular ‘Vario’ option allowing you to create your own, bespoke workstation including specialist appliances enabling specific cooking techniques. The difference between the two series is, essentially, scale, aesthetic and control.

Cooktops 400 series

Designed for the spacious kitchen, imposing in scale and impressive in performance, the 400 series cooktops ranges from 38 cm to one metre. Add illuminated controls to your cooktop, specify either stainless steel or black, mounted on the horizontal or vertical surface. The flexible Vario options enable the ultimate, bespoke cooktop to be created.

Vario cooktops

Tailor your cooking area into your ideal culinary scenario by seamlessly joining together our modular options and ventilation appliances. Create your ideal cooktop area, choosing from Teppan Yaki, flex induction, gas, grill and downdraft.

The Vario 400 series is controlled by the illuminated knobs mounted on the cabinet front of the kitchen furniture while the Vario 200 series cooktops offer a cohesive design in black, with illuminated control dials.

Full surface induction

Flush or surface mounted, framed or not, 80 or 90 cm: the full surface induction has no zones to adhere to. Place variable size and shape of 5 or 6 pans anywhere, scroll through the 17 power levels. Move the pan and the cooktop even remembers their power and timer settings. Use the intuitive, dial-free TFT display to control your compatible extractor or set the appliance to Professional or Dynamic cooking function and simply move the pans around the cooktop’s pre-set high, medium and low areas, just as the professionals do.

Flex induction cooktops with integrated ventilation

The ‘flex’ element allows you to expand your cooking zones to accommodate larger pans as well as Teppan Yaki or griddle pan accessories. Set the professional function to move your pan around the cooktop’s preset temperature zones without having to constantly adjust the controls. Home Connect extractors can be controlled from the cooktop, alternatively, opt for an induction cooktop with ventilation integrated within it.

The 90 cm 400 series’ controls are solid black stainless steel knobs, illuminated and placed out of sight on the drawer front, while the 80 cm 200 series’ Twist Pad is removable for cleaning and when not in use.

Gas cooktops

For the 400 series the power of the raw flame is electronically divided into 12 levels, for the 200 series there are 9 mechanical levels to choose from. For both, each power setting is reliably replicable, day after day. All offer flash frying and wok power alongside extremely gentle simmering. Should the flame blow out for any reason, it is automatically reignited; if this fails, the gas is switched off. Power, harnessed.
