Surrounded by a family brimming with chefs and foodies, the kitchen has inherently held a sacred position in the lives of Ufuk Tekin, his wife, and 6-year-old daughter. “For us, the kitchen has always been a place of bonding and entertainment.”

The impetus behind re-modelling the space was established 8 years ago when they first moved into their humble abode in Arabian Ranches, Dubai. The essential criteria was to ensure it remained fresh, natural, and seamless.

The brief centered on their penchant for farmhouses. From blueprints to final execution, the Tekin family worked closely with the architects at every line, curve, and step to ensure their dream kitchen was brought to life.

“We always liked the design language of farmhouses. We fine-tuned it to be timeless, fresh, practical, but most importantly, it had to harmoniously blend into our community in Dubai.”

The focus on natural elements was key to the realization of the space. The marble countertops and real wood-veneer cabinets were intentionally complimented with the stainless-steel doors of the cooling appliance. It was this collaborative attention to detail from client and architect that led to the inception of a contemporary dining haven that perfectly merged nature with modernity.

Gaggenau appliances have been a regular in the Tekin household for as far back as Ufuk can remember. “My mother had a long-lasting career in BSH for more than 30 years. We’ve only used these products at home.”

One of their favourite dishes to cook and popular amongst guests in their home is the salmon. “We cook salmon all the time, and the steam oven is very convenient with the thermometer probe – it comes out perfect every time.”

Ufuk believes that his trust in Gaggenau stems from values that he himself strongly resonates with. As he aptly puts it, “never compromises on quality, the timeless designs, and a deep-seated sense of family and heritage.”
